Dr.FryereceivedhisJurisDoctorateattheUniversityofPittsburghin2003,

specializingintaxlaw,immigrationandinternationalbusinesslaw.Heisstill

engagedinlegalconsultingforpaniesinvolvedinbusinessbetweenAsiaand

NorthAmerica.

Dr.FryereceivedhisB.A.fromtheMichiganStateUniversityin2000pleting

amajorinInterdisciplinaryHumanities,aself-designedmajorconsistingofa

tripleconcentrationinthefieldsofHistory,AsianStudiesandPsychologyfor

whichhewasrequiredtopleteover150semesterhours.Duringhistenure

atMSU,Dr.Fryealsospent4semestersstudyingatuniversityinJapanaspartof

ajointprogrambetweentheShigaPrefectureinJapanandtheStateofMichigan

attheJapanCenterforMichiganUniversities.Dr.Fryewasalsoanactive

participantinstudentgovernmentandservedaspresidentoftheUniversity

ApartmentsAdvisoryBoardandmadetheDean’slistduringhistimein

university.

Dr.Fryehasbeeninvolvedinhighereducationformorethanadecadeandhas

servedasthefirstfulltimeforeignlawprofessoratShanghaiUniversityof

FinanceandEconomicsandwasthelongestservingforeignprofessorat

KyungheeUniversity’sDepartmentofInternationalTradeinthehistoryofthat

highlyregardedinstitution.Dr.Fryestillmaintainsanactiveinvolvementwith

theuniversitymunityandregularlydoesguestlecturesandpaidspeaking

engagements,mostrecentlyattheSouthWesternUniversityofFinanceand

EconomicsSchoolofLawinChengduandtheShanghaiSportsUniversityherein

Shanghai.InadditionDr.FryehasspokenatvariousseminarsonEarly

Childhoodeducation.

Dr.Fryeisalsoanaplishedmusician,havingattendedtheMusicians’

InstituteinHollywood,CaliforniawherehemajoredinProfessionalGuitarand

earnedhislivingasaprofessionalguitaristandsingeraswellasaprofessional

DJbeforereturningtouniversityattheageof26.

Dr.FryeisalsoaformerathletewhowasafivetimeOhioStateJudochampionas

wellasastatefree-stylewrestlingchampionwheninhighschool.Inaddition

FryeearnedtheSilverMedalintheNationalJudoChampionshipin1984atthe

ageof16.
