范文
Alright then, the parent I’d like to talk about today is the mother of a good friend of mine. The reason why I choose to talk about this person is because my friend is always ‘showing off’ in front of me, saying how lucky she is to have such a nice mom. Well, from what I know about her mom, I’d have to say she is absolutely right.
Anyway, as for how I got to know her mom, well, it’s basically due to the fact that I went to the same middle school as her daughter, Lily. Lily and I later became pretty good friends, and we ended up visiting each other quite often, especially during holidays. Every time I go visit her on weekends, her mom would always give me a warm welcome and prepare us delicious meals.
And regarding what her mother does, she works as a science teacher in a local primary school if I remember right. She seems to be well esteemed and loved among her students since a lot of her students came to visit her when she was in hospital due to an influenza some time ago. I guess that’s because she’s someone quite devoted to her job as a teacher. There were so many times Lily told me about her mom working late into the night, thinking hard on how to provide her students with better science lessons.
Anyway, with regard to why I think she’s a good parent, well, I’d say there are quite a few reasons, one of which would be that she has always been quite supportive to her daughter. For example, when Lily finally made up her mind to take music as her major at university, her mom, instead of talking her out of that seemingly unwise decision, gave Lily her full support, which is probably not what many other parents would have done, as music doesn’t really leave open a lot of career choices, if you know what I mean.
I think it’s fair to say that nowadays, a lot of parents force their children to do things that they think are the best for them. But Lily’s mom however, is nothing like that, which I think is really great.
